The question on everybody's mind:

Q: Is it safe to eat Sashimi and Japanese style Seafood?

Here are some answers to various questions you may have.

A: No, the Salmon does not come from Japan. The Japanese are famous for eating a lot of Salmon. They import an estimated one million tones of salmon a year which is almost half of the entire worlds farmed salmon and some wild caught ones too.

A: Unagi, the Japanese style roasted Eel we like so much, is also a product that Japan imports by the thousands of tones. Much of it is farmed, by usually Japanese owned and run corporations, in Taiwan and many other places.

A: Ebiko, Tobiko & Salmon Roe come, you have guessed it already, from all parts of the world except Japan. We usually like to get it from the same sources as the Japanese do.

A: Japanese Scallops. They usually come from the northern part of Japan, the area most affected by the disaster. We no longer carry them.

A: Hamachi or also known as Yellow Tail. The Japanese prefer the quality that comes out of Australia and so do we.

A: The Tuna Saku which we sell in the shop and use to make the beautiful Tuna Tataki come from Thailand.

A: Our Swordfish Belly are actually a product of Singapore. The company who process them is supplying many Japanese distributors and restaurants in the region and does export to Japan and the United States.
